1. Who we are
Keep Safe (keepsafe.report, the "Service") is operated by Love the Idea Digital Observatory ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Keep Safe website and mobile application. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Using the Service
Keep Safe provides a safeguarding reporting platform that allows individuals to raise concerns — anonymously or with contact details — with schools, training providers, local authorities, and other organisations. You agree to use the Service:
- Honestly and in good faith
- In accordance with all applicable laws
- Without attempting to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or compromise the security of the Service
Submitting a report that you know to be false or malicious is a misuse of the Service and may be referred to the relevant organisation or authorities.
3. Accounts and organisations
Some features — such as following up on a report or managing an organisation's safeguarding dashboard — require an account. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Organisations registering with Keep Safe must provide accurate information and are responsible for maintaining their own safeguarding policies and acting on reports they receive.
4. Anonymous reporting
Where Keep Safe offers anonymous reporting, we do not collect information that could identify you, and we have no way to retrieve or trace an anonymous report once submitted. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how report data is handled, encrypted, and retained.
5. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim to keep Keep Safe available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, change, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time, including to improve safety, security, or compliance with safeguarding guidance.
6. Plans and billing
Where an organisation subscribes to a paid plan, billing terms (including price, frequency, and cancellation) are set out at the point of purchase or in a separate agreement. Subscriptions can be cancelled in line with the terms agreed at sign-up; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
7. Intellectual property
The Keep Safe name, logo, website, and app — including their design, content, and underlying software — are owned by Love the Idea Digital Observatory or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from the Service without our permission, except as needed for normal use of the Service.
8. Liability
Keep Safe is a tool to help route safeguarding concerns to the right people — it is not a substitute for emergency services. If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services directly. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for actions taken (or not taken) by an organisation in response to a report submitted through the Service, though we work hard to ensure reports are delivered reliably and securely.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
